Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. By stimulating your skin’s natural healing process, you’ll improve its texture, tone, and overall appearance.

Treatments are usually spaced four to six weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every six to twelve months. This helps sustain your skin’s refreshed and youthful appearance over time.

Adding PRP or exosomes to your treatment can also enhance and prolong your results, as these options further stimulate collagen production and skin rejuvenation.

To allow your skin to heal correctly after your microneedling treatment, it’s best to wait at least 12 hours before applying makeup. During this initial recovery period, your skin is more sensitive, and avoiding makeup helps prevent irritation or clogged pores.

After the first 12 hours, you can resume using gentle, non-comedogenic makeup products. However, we recommend giving your skin as much time as possible to breathe and heal naturally. If possible, wait 48 hours before applying heavy or full-coverage makeup to ensure optimal healing and results.

There is no downtime for microneedling! You may experience some redness and flaking following your treatment. The healing process will vary and can be improved with exosome add-ons and medical-grade skincare.

The procedure of microneedling is minimally invasive, with no true downtime so that most people are able to resume their normal activities shortly after the procedure. However, you may experience some temporary side effects during the healing process:

• Redness and Sensitivity: It is common for your skin to appear red and feel sensitive during the first 24 to 48 hours.
• Mild Swelling and Dryness: Some patients may notice minor swelling or tightness in the treated areas, which usually subsides within a few days.

While there’s no significant recovery time, it’s important to take special care of your skin in the days following treatment. Avoid direct sun exposure, intense exercise, and makeup for at least 24 hours, and follow the aftercare instructions provided by your Look Lab expert to optimize healing and results.

Most patients resume their daily routine right away, but your skin will continue to heal and improve over the next few days.
